As we conclude the first half of the session, it’s only right for us to get to know our excos personally and see what they’ve been up to so far and their plans for the rest of the session. In this article, we had a sit down with Olubunmi Peace, our faculty’s Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Olubunmi Peace, a 400 level student of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I am a Christian. I am a mobile developer with expertise in developing web, android, and iOS apps. I love watching football, I do not miss Manchester United matches or any match Messi plays.
What inspired you to pursue your role as a ULES Executive?
I always love to help and serve. Being an executive gives me a chance to offer my service to engineering students. Also, as a public relations officer, I get to meet and interact with a lot of students.
Who would you name as your role models or influencers?
I don’t think I really have role models. But, popular people I follow will be the 8-time Ballon D’or winner and best football player of all time, Lionel Messi, Hillsong united ministers(Benjamin Hastings, Joel Houston, and Brooke Ligertwood), and Jesus Culture worship ministers(Chris Quilala and Kim-Walker Smith).
What are some experiences or milestones that have shaped your journey or that you're most proud of?
It’s probably when I decided to run for elections, and eventually got in. I never expected myself to go into faculty leadership until that moment. I am sure my friends didn't expect me to run at all.
Are there any upcoming projects or initiatives within the faculty you are excited about?
I am excited about all events that are to take place, and can’t wait to be involved in them and share with ULESites.
How do you balance school, your exco duties and your personal life?
I do whatever I feel is more important at a particular time, then use Messi's masterclass chill afterwards.
Can you share any favorite books, podcasts or article that has had a significant impact on you?
Of course, the Bible.
What do you hope to accomplish this academic session?
I want to make sure I fulfil my duties, and never disappoint my fellow students who voted me in.
What was your Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering moment?
Mehnn, we thank God. Nice and sad moments. A stand out moment was Engineering drawing times in year 2. It took a lot of my time and energy.
